New Ways to Promote Pool Renovations in 2026 (Part 2)

Last week, I talked about “transforming the backyard” of homeowners with pools that are more than 30 years old.

That’s highly lucrative because those pools have virtually none of the modern features that homeowners would love today. A creative renovation proposal like this could easily jump deep into the six-figures area. Perfect for those homeowners who are ready, willing and able to invest in their backyard.

Meanwhile, there are other pool owners who don’t care so much about their backyard, but they’re still interested in transforming THEMSELVES.

A 2025 survey says that 83% of post-pandemic Americans are interested in investing in health and wellness features, products and appliances.

Note that 83% is a LOT more than the percentage of people who want to renovate their backyard!

Odds are excellent your pool owners are part of that 83% of people who are interested in features and appliances for their improved health and wellness.

It’s also worth noting that in the US, the health and wellness niche is growing at an impressive 8.3% annual growth rate, and now exceeds $2 trillion a year in spending.

So even if you aren’t currently a dealer, it might make sense for you to have conversations about saunashot tubsswim spascold plungesmassage chairs, and other healthy appliances.

Maybe you can get them from distribution, maybe you can get them drop-shipped by the manufacturer. Or maybe you can partner with a local dealer. Either way, these are some nice high-ticket items that a lot of Americans are ready to invest in.

And here’s an interesting irony. Sometimes simply upgrading the old swimming pool (and the area around the pool) will give the forlorn pool owner all the inspiration and motivation they need to fall in love with their old pool again, and start enjoying the health benefits inherent in every swimming pool.

So just talking about wellness might get the wheels turning in the minds of your renovation prospects.

I’ve got one more strategy that goes beyond the usual “wellness” and “upgrade the backyard” ideas I’ve presented so far. I’ll share that with you next week.
