Part 12 in a series of 12 Company-Crushing Killers Lurking Inside Your Business Today…

By Brett Lloyd Abbott, Pool Builder Marketing LLC

Congratulations! You’ve made it to the twelfth and final company-crushing killer in the Deadly Dozen. Here’s where we wrap things up.

A solid, well-run company that sells a valuable product or service is usually very good at what they do. But in today’s crowded marketplace, just having a good product or service isn’t enough to claim the victory you deserve.

You’re fighting a war on many fronts.

Battling these “deadly dozen” enemies we’ve profiled is a huge, time-consuming job. That doesn’t begin to cover your fundamental responsibilities of producing, selling, and managing your business. And of course if you start implementing these business-building strategies, your business is going to grow, which means you’ll be even busier.

New levels of business bring on new problems.

Do you have the manpower? You may be able to shuffle responsibilities around for a while, but as your business reaches new levels, that trick just won’t work anymore. And finding and hiring new recruits will continue to require time, training and resources that at some point will outstrip your current capabilities.

SOLUTION:

You need a hired gun.

Smart, growing companies hire outside professionals who are the best at what they do, so that you are free to focus on your own core strengths. Sometimes this includes accounting and/or human resources, but if the goal is to grow the company, then this outsourcing almost always has to start with hiring an experienced marketing professional.

It’s crucial that you learn how to outsource effectively.

Most struggling entrepreneurs approach outsourcing from the wrong angle, by asking “Where or how can I get this done the cheapest?” But you can bet that the cheapest outsourcing solution won’t be the fastest or most effective. (Ask anyone who’s ever hired a marketing consultant that didn’t work out!)

Another common mistake is to think short-term, focusing on one specific issue only. When you take this approach, you have to go through the selection process each and every time you need help. We call this “outsourcing turnover,” which gets quite expensive when you consider the total amount of time you dedicate to searching for and selecting someone for every new challenge that arises.

Effective outsourcing is about developing long-term relationships with professionals who have expertise beyond your own. Thus, a better question to ask is “How can I maintain long-term access to a talented person or team that will do quality work, and help me maximize opportunities as they arise?

With this approach, you get a team of on-call professionals ready to facilitate your next business conquest. Over time, you and your chosen team will build a solid working relationship, and your company reaps the benefits.

CONCLUSION:

You’ve now seen how the Deadly Dozen “company-crushing killers” can wreak havoc on your best-laid plans and intentions. You’ve also seen the proven battle strategies you need to defeat them.

And even though these strategies have been demonstrated and proven successful countless times all over the world, most business owners STILL fall victim to one or more of these company killers, resulting in frustration, aggravation, and ongoing financial struggles, or worse yet, going completely out of business.

That’s why we offer this real-world knowledge and advice, gleaned from decades of working with other business owners who have faced and successfully tackled the exact same issues.

These company killers are the enemy of every business. The businesses who identify and defeat them will win. Once you understand that, you’ve taken a giant step forward in growing your business, profits, and freedom.
